Two-Sided Corn Maiden by Gloria Chattin, Zuni

75.00

While the world of Zuni carvings is dominated by men, Gloria Chattin’s pieces stand out with a feminine flow. This shell corn maiden is hand-carved and etched with pueblo cross and cornstalk motifs. She stands atop a mound of turquoise chips with a rectangular sandstone base. With one side featuring a lapis lazuli drop and the other a coral drop, she stands approximately 1 3/4” tall.
